Dr. Marwa Al-Bana is a new GP registrar joining Riverstone Medical Practice in 2025. Dr Marwa has special interest in women’s heath , paediatrics and all aspects of general practice .
 
She graduated from Erbil Medical University in Iraq and gained extensive experience rotating through various specialties at teaching hospitals in Erbil, including emergency medicine, pediatrics, plastic surgery, and women’s health.
 
After moving to Australia, Dr. Al-Bana continued to refine her skills while working in rural and tertiary hospitals across Melbourne. Alongside her full-time role at Riverstone Medical Practice, Dr. Al-Bana is currently pursuing a Diploma in Women’s Health at Bexhill Hospital, Eastern Health which she has special interest in.
 
Dr Marwa speaks English , Arabic and Kurdish . She is passionate about building strong patient relationships and providing compassionate, knowledgeable, and respectful care.
 
Outside of work, Dr. Al-Bana enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing table tennis, traveling, and learning about different cultures.

Fees

REMINDER:

The consultation times are specific related times, so please book appropriate longer consultations if required, to be fair to other patients.

Patients who are late to their consultations will likely not be seen if the doctor is running behind.

PROCEDURES:

All procedures for all patients will attract an out-of-pocket fee, doctor will explain any additional fees to you and obtain your consent prior to receiving treatment.

NON-ATTENDANCE POLICY:

Please note that a Non-Attendance Fee is payable if a patient does not attend their appointment or cancel prior to 2 hours of their appointment time. Patients WILL be charged an out-of-pocket fee of

$30 Monday to Saturday and $40 on Sundays.

This policy is in place to stop any persistent misuse of the service.

TAC & WORKCOVER:

Patients will be billed as per TAC / WorkCover Fee Schedules. Total amount payable must be paid on same day of consultation. Patients can use their invoice to claim the funds from their relevant authority.

The practitioner doesn’t accept patients with an existing Workcover/TAC claims.

MEDICALS:

Medical Assessments and all other reports will be billed directly to the patient and payable on the day of consultation.

TRANSFER OF MEDICAL FILES:

Transfer of medical file to another medical practice is $30.
